Basic Research has launched Relacore, a nonsedating, mild anti-anxiety mood enhancer that reduces stress-induced cortisol production by helping to minimize stress. Scientists have discovered that stress-induced cortisol is the likely cause of stubborn belly fat. Not only can Relacore reduce stress-induced belly fat in conjunction with proper diet and exercise, but it also helps balance hormone levels that cause such fat and encourage overeating. Booth 620
Some weighty advice on diet aids

Good Housekeeping Institute, Wire Services
These days, it seems you can't touch the remote control without seeing an infomercial for the latest diet supplement. But Good Housekeeping says that with some of these pills, you might end up losing more money than weight. The Good Housekeeping Institute nutritionist, Delia Hammock, M.S., R.D., just evaluated a variety of the latest diet aids and found some that don't work - and one that just might.
CortiSlim
What it contains: Vitamins, minerals and blends of various plant extracts.
What it claimed: Last summer, on its Web site, CortiSlim said a stress hormone called cortisol causes you to become overweight because it increases your appetite and makes you store fat. These capsules will control levels of this hormone, reduce stress and boost your metabolism. (Another pill, Relacore, makes similar cortisol-reducing claims.)
Reality check: The Federal Trade Commission charged CortiSlim with making false and unsubstantiated claims, and as a result, the company changed its pitch. Nonetheless, CortiSlim might be harmful. One of the extracts it contains is bitter orange peel, which is similar in composition and function to ephedra, the dangerous diet aid banned by the Food and Drug Administration.
